Well, this week was fun. It was crazy with 3 elders, one shower, and a really small piso, but it was doable.
So the crazy part of this week was Tuesday. We went to go meet this family that Elder Lords had taught once before and they are Muslims. So we show up and the son and his friend let us in. Then we head into the back room and sit down. They said that the dad was at work and that we should start. So we start talking and then the mom and sister come in. They are dressed in the whole Muslim getup and they said they wanted to share and then would let us share. So Elder Lords says ok... Then we start reading a little bit in the Muslim holy book and then they say God is all powerful and that was it... Then Elder Lords says it is our turn. So the daughter says that she doesn't share any of our teachings but Elder Lords said, “Ok, we are going to start with a prayer,” and they had me pray. The daughter and mom start giggling during the prayer and my comp was like, “We respected you guys - please respect us.” So we move on to share a scripture and the son reads it. He said he really liked it and could feel something. As he said that, I saw a Preach my Gospel under the table and I was like, “Elder Lords, why do they have that?” And, he said, “Well, they wanted to know what we do as missionaries so I gave it to them,” and I thought that was really weird, but whatever. Then, after we finished, they said that they wanted to pray to the Mecca and so we knelt down. I was thinking that we would just pray in our our way and they would pray in their way. The friend started praying in Arabic and my comp, Elder Lords, just bust up laughing and then we left. Later we had a lesson with a real investigator and the Muslim daughter showed up in normal clothes and Elder Burt and I realized it was all a joke.
So yeah, fun week. We met with Patricia and a couple other people. This area is like the Utah of Spain because there are sooo many members here. Half of them are on summer vacations right now so there will be more to come. It is cool - we get fed lunch or dinner everyday almost. Most of our investigators are friends of members. So yeah, cool! There are not a lot of people on the streets, but we are working on finding people. With everyone on vacation, we don't have a lot of investigators in Azuqueca, but it is a great area with lots of young members and lots of RM's! We get lots of help here.
Well, have a great week!
PS - Elder Bennett came and visited. It was lots of fun seeing him before he went home.
