Hey, guys! This week (well, week and a half) was full of surprises. Well, we started off the week good - we played some ping-pong with Sandra, Katharine and some of the young men (I should get to know their names).
Tuesday was a good day. We went to meet with our ward mission leader and it was a good meeting. Then, later we met with Luis and that went good. He made us some food and, well, he is just awesome!!!! Later we met with Sandra and talked about a young adult EFY sort of thing. She said she wanted to go, but couldn't pay for it. Some of the members were down to pay for it because it wasn't much, but she said she was too embarrassed to let them pay for it. Then we shared a lesson with her and talked about how to get an answer and put her on a baptismal date for the 29th of this month. She agreed to stop drinking coffee and smoking tobacco.
Wednesday we did a lot of talking - district meeting, which was good, and a branch family home evening. The Sisters did it and it turned out good. I made peanut butter cookies and everyone liked them. We had a bunch of less actives come and the Sisters and us had a bunch of friends come, too, so it was a party.
Thursday we did weekly planning. Also, I got an email from Sandra saying that on the way home from the family home evening they were assaulted. So that afternoon we spent some time with them showing them how to make chocolate chip cookies so we could talk to them and make sure they were ok. After that we went to this little town that is kind of far away to meet with this new guy named Héctor. We were going to meet with him last Saturday, but he didn't show up. But on Thursday he answered his phone and told us to wait and, well, we waited until we had to run to catch the train and that was when he showed up. We didn't get to talk to him and we got back late, so that was disappointing because he really wanted to meet with us. It's just the public transportation can make it hard sometimes.
Friday we met with Zola and she was just soooo cool. Well, she just talked and talked and talked and it got to a point where I just couldn't understand her, lol! She is just a typical Grandma that just talks and talks. Then Elder Strong wasn't feeling good, so we made calls and stuff in the church.
Saturday we played sports and Héctor showed up early, so that was cool. We played some fútbol and it was a lot of fun. Later that day we met with Héctor and, man, he just wants to get baptized and baptize his family and friends! So we are excited about him!!!
Sunday Héctor didn't show up, so we will see what happened... But then we went and ate with some members in a town really far away. Thankfully they took us back in their car!!!! Then we had a noche de hogar with one of the branch president's counselors and that was good.
Then Monday we went to the hospital because Elder Strong was sick and, well, they took care of him. Tuesday we stayed in all day until we met with Sandra and Sonsoles and talked about Joseph Smith (we watched a video about his life) and the Word of Wisdom – the whole hot drinks thing... Then today, we were going to go to the temple, but Elder Strong still felt sick, so we slept in. We have doctor appointments at 4 here in Madrid.
So yeah, that's my week! Hope you guys had a great one!
