So this week was slow but fun. Last Monday we went to visit Marie with the other elders because they didn't have anyone to go with them. It was good. We are helping her get ready to go on her mission. Her papers are in and she is just waiting, so, if I don't get transferred (I probably won't), I'll let you know where she is going. After that, we went to the home of Victor, a recent convert, and went over Joseph Smith and everything with that. It was good - once we got to the first vision part, he took over and started to teach us - it was funny. Oh, Victor is from Brazil and lives with his grandma who, most of the time, speaks a mixture of Spanish and Portuguese - its confusing! His grandma makes so much food and makes us eat what she thinks is a good amount. Sometimes it's as much as we want, and other times, it's all of it. She cooks a lot, so it's always fun going over there.
Tuesday we visited a lady who wanted a blessing and in the end just wanted to talk to us. It was good getting to know her. After that we had two lessons that didn't work out. We went to the house of Sister Jara, an inactive member for 9 years, and she is excited to come back. She misses the church and thinks it's weird to be on the other side of reactivation.
Wednesday we had district meeting and learned a lot. We met with Edison, also a recent convert. We also had English classes and then met with Karen who had amazing questions. We were going to go over the Restoration more, but she wanted to know about the Plan of Salvation - it was great! I learned that the title page to the Book of Mormon talks about the plan of salvation. She had great questions during the entire lesson and she is awesome. My companion is freaking out because of all the attention she is getting from the RM's (I wish they would chill out a bit, but it's not that big of a deal), and it's funny.
Thursday did some good planing and had some more less active visits.
Friday we met with Antonio. We planned to share the plan of salvation, but he started to talk about why he went inactive and was a good visit. We also visited an ex member and her boyfriend who want to be members, but he has a wife in Peru, so.... interesting couple.
Saturday was exchanges and I went out with Elder Rowley and did some good contacting in the rain. All our lessons fired us so we did some contacting. It was a long, but fun day - he is a funny kid.
Sunday, Elder Alacama wiped his iPad and lost everything - photos, info, everything! It was funny, but sad.
Today (pday) we went to Sol which was fun. The Barrio 6 mission leader invited us over today for lunch and it was good food.
Well, that's all this week.
Love ya,
Elder Craig MacKay
