So, to start, this last week, when we were emailing, all of us elders were eating this Turkish food that is similar to a gyro called kėbab (I think that is how it is spelled) and they taste really good. So Tuesday when we woke up, I had a really bad headache and Elder Tullis was dying he was so sick, so we stayed in. Elder Douglas and Elder Wade went out and then, halfway through the day, we went out and contacted for the rest of the night.
Wednesday Elder Tullis was still dying and so was Elder Douglas, so I went out with Elder Wade. We got canceled on all day so we contacted and passed by people. Then we had English class and the ward family home evening.
Thursday Elder Tullis was feeling ok so I had to stay in with Elder Douglas. It was so hard staying in the piso all day. It drove me crazy, not working.
Friday Elder Douglas and Elder Wade stayed in, so Elder Tullis and I went out even though he was sick (but was not nearly as bad as the other elders). Everyone fired us so we contacted but the appointments lived on different sides of our area so we didn't get much done. I got pelted with some stuff while I was heading back to the piso and I couldn't tell who hit me. I thought it was just little rocks but when we got to the piso, I found out it was some purple stuff. I'm hoping it will come out of my jacket but it didn't come out of my white shirt.
So the reason they couldn't leave the piso was because the other elder had to go to the bathroom like every 15 mins. In Spain, there are no such things as public bathrooms. I wasn't affected by the kėbab except for the headache so I was lucky. The other elders also got hit with something else and were sick. Herbs work! I only had the headache so I was doing great.
Saturday we contacted and then met with Kossi and had our last lesson with him as an investigator. Elder Douglas baptized him and it was soooo awesome. Then we went to Dalila's house and got to know Edith (Dalila's member friend) and her son who is Dalila's son's best friend. He is also not a member, so we have a new person to work with.
On Sunday we had church at 4 so we were invited over to Dalila's house before church. We told her not to cook us anything but to just let us give a message. We feel bad always eating her food yet the first thing she did was to set the table, lol. We have never not eaten at her house or had her give us food as we are walking out the door. She is progressing and so is her son. Although she couldn't come to church, her son came with his friend and his mom, Edith. Also, Kossi showed up at church right when it started. We were a little worried because he is always there like an hour early. But he got there and I had the chance to do the confirmation in English because it is his native tongue. It was so cool! It is just the best feeling in the world to feel God's love for His child and to feel His words come out of me. To hear the words flow out of my mouth like someone else is talking is just so cool! Adrian, the son of Dalila, and his friend Jorgé, the son of Edith, loved church, even though they were hesitant to go to the last two hours.
We are meeting at Edith's house this week, so that's big. Sunday we talked with some new people and with our investigators and have pretty much set up our week. So this week should be much better because we will be able to work. We are excited.
Have a great week
